“Tuesdays with Tony Spirituality Series”

Retreat master, theologian and Seton Associate Father Anthony Ciorra produced CDs with a dozen 25-minute lectures on Spiritual Flourishing. The series covers centuries-old tried and true spiritual practices. Father Tony emphasizes regular practice of the techniques described help us to established and deepen our Holy Friendship. And to become the spiritual person who reflects Divine love to those we meet. Each session includes listening to CD, group discussion and meditation.  Topics include: An Invitation to Silence; Practicing Presence; Gratitude Can Change Your Life; Living an Examined and Purposeful Life; Contemplation: Another Way of Seeing; Centering Prayer; Holy Reading (Lectio Divina); Holy Seeing (Visio Divina); Discernment: A Way of Making Choices; Social Justice: The Bible and the Newspaper; Fasting and Feasting; and Spiritual Direction and Journaling.  Open to the Public. Father Anthony Randazzo will provide an informed overview of contemporary theologian Dr. Elizabeth Johnson whose many books and lectures have advanced peoples’ appreciation of God’s presence in our daily lives. He says: “Sister Elizabeth Johnson’s life and theological work resonate with the contemporary experience of Christian discipleship of God’s people on their journey.” Dr. Johnson retired last spring after 27 years at Fordham University where she was Distinguished Professor of Theology, and a noted feminist theologian. Some of her books include: She Who Is; Women, Earth and Creator Spirit; Touch the Hem; The Church Women Want; Quest for the Living God; Darwin and the God of Love; Abounding in Kindness; Consider Jesus: Waves of Renewal in Christology.
