COVID return to work

Donor spotlight 1DONOR HIGHLIGHT
Donors choose to remember the Sisters of Charity in their estate plans for many reasons.  For Hubert “Hap” Moran, the reason is very simple:  he wants his estate to be used for good and he knows that he can count on the Sisters of Charity to make that happen.  Hap has been connected with the Sisters of Charity his entire life. The Sisters were his Sunday School teachers at Holy Trinity Parish in Hackensack, the parish where Hap remains active to this day. The roots of faith planted in those early years helped to sustain Hap during his service in the United States Navy.  He returned from the service to devote his professional life as a social worker to helping people who struggled with addictions and mental health issues. For more than 43 years, Hap has been a parish Eucharistic Minister.  He also brings Communion to patients at Hackensack University Medical Center.  He cherishes the opportunity to connect with people through his hospital ministry.  “Patients don’t realize that they are a gift to us as we bring Jesus to them.”  Hap’s bequest to the Sisters of Charity continues the commitment to faith and charity that has been so important to Hap during his life.  If you would like more information about including the Sisters of Charity in your will or making a different kind of legacy gift, please contact Wendy Relation, Director of Development at (973)290-5480 or .

IN LOVING MEMORY

During the past few weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, we, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, have lost 15 of our dear sisters. It was not possible to memorialize each sister with the rituals that bring closure and comfort.  As each sister was brought home to Convent Station, the Bells of Holy Family Chapel tolled as the entire congregation prayed together.

We thank God for these sisters who touched the lives of so many, each in her own way and with her own special gifts.

We know these sisters partnered with many of you in the mission of Charity and will be remembered with love and gratitude.

We invite you to share with us how your life was blessed by the presence of these sisters.  If you would like to offer a tribute to one of these sisters, you can do so on our Facebook page @SistersofCharityofSaintElizabeth.
